Véronique lives in the French city of Orléans. In 2014, she was diagnosed with an invasive breast cancer.
She was determined to beat the disease, fight for life, and stay dignified.
Healing and survival are her mantras, she stood straight and proud, and repeated to herself over and over again she’d overcome the beast.
No shame in being sick, but rather admiration in the eyes of those who watch.
“I AM GOING TO FIGHT UP TO THE END AND I AM GOING TO WIN.”
Véronique wrote to the photographer Géraldine Aresteanu to ask that she photograph her at different stages of the illness, that she be by her side, step by step.
An deep and intense relationship was born from this experience, and Véronique won the battle.
Her breast is now rebuilt.
Her hair has grown back, and she now specializes in fiber underwear that help women who have undergone a mastectomy or restorative surgery, to soften their daily lives.
