Laurence is not just any winning champion.
She holds the most important karate titles : 3 World championships, and 7 Europe ones.
After winning these “fights”, she decided to go back to school, at the age of 28, and graduated from the French Economics University: ESSEC.
After that, she left for a month-long mission to Afghanistan with the association Play International, to teach karate to women and girls in traumatic post-war situations; teach them to fight, to protect and emancipate themselves through sport, and let repressed anger out.
Laurence is an advocate of the power of education and self-rebuilding through sport.
Her goal is to use this tool to help restore confidence, energy, strength and hope in the countries that lack all of these. She visited the countries of Haiti, Burundi, and has been teaching self-defense to victims of war rape in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the last three years.
Laurence is a role model for exercising solidarity, and sharing.
“I AM GOING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO FIGHT AND TO REBUILD YOURSELF.”
Her foundation, Fight for dignity, helps fight for a better life, with kimonos as only weapon.
